August finds goldenrod and Japanese knotweed in full bloom in New York. Most of our bees have made their journey north and are feasting on pollen and nectar which abounds. Goldenrod produces a rather light honey, while, as many of you know, Japanese knotweed produces a delicious, dark honey. The honey bees will continue to bring in pollen and nectar through much of September before the nectar flow begins to diminish.
